METASoundBlok

Description

Gramm Barrier’s METASoundBlok® Noise Barrier system has been specially designed to reduce noise generated by road and rail traffic.

A fully CE compliant system – METASoundBlok® design criteria uses the noise signature of road and rail traffic as a reference, subsequently adapting the barrier’s noise abatement properties to optimise its overall efficiency.

Likewise, the design seeks to optimise the panel’s mechanical performance by fitting it with two deep guiderails to improve its mechanical ability and withstand additional pressure caused by passing vehicles and trains.

Specification

Gramm Barriers METASoundBlok® are made from galvanised steel plating which can be powder coated to any shade of RAL colour. The panels can also be finished in a galvanised finish. It is a fully CE compliant system for use on road schemes under CPR 2013.

The inside of the Metal Noise Barrier panel is made up of sound absorbing mineral wool to achieve the highest A5 noise reduction rating.

The inner face of the Metal Noise Barrier panel (Directed at the noise source) has holes over 35% of the surface area to provide noise absorption, while the outer face is a plain reflective panel. The METASoundBlok® panels are then installed into steel RSJ noise barrier posts in 500mm increments to achieve the desired overall height. Panels can span various lengths to suit individual project requirements up to 5 M in length.

A unique design feature of the METASoundBlok® barrier construction is that individual panels can be removed and replaced. Panels are not bolted, welded, or otherwise permanently fastened to each other or to the support posts (Top security fixing added if required). Should replacement be called for as a result of structural damage, no more than three workmen using ordinary hand tools will be able to do the job. The light weight (22.0kg/m2) of the noise barrier panels also make them the prime choice for barrier construction atop existing bridges, overpasses or other elevated transit structures which cannot support heavier alternative products.
