Description
Gramm Barrier Systems have developed a low-level noise barrier system specifically designed for railway environments. The RAILSoundBlok® noise barrier has been designed to be installed within close proximity of the train/rails.
Manufactured from high strength concrete and clad with our absorbing TILESoundBlok® product, the RAILSoundBlok® offers a unique system that tackles rail noise at the source. Due to the close proximity of the barrier, the height can be reduced whilst offering similar dB reductions to much higher barriers that are traditionally installed along the railway boundaries.
Specification
Each panel is made of high Strength concrete, with acoustical absorption. The precast concrete barriers are clad with Gramm Barriers highly absorptive TILESoundBlok® system.
The RAILSoundBlok® system has been designed to be installed as close to the noise source as possible (1.7m) which allows for a reduced barrier height.
The system can be manufactured with an integrated cable tray that runs directly behind the barrier upstand. This method provides a safer and neater solution compared to traditional cable troughing.

Foundation types
Gramms RAILSoundBlok® has been specifically designed to eliminate the need for concrete or piled footings. The barrier only requires a 300 – 400mm sub base.
